Mike and I decided early on that hiring a wedding coordinator was a must. We wanted someone to handle the details of the event as it drew nearer. Our criteria were simple. We wanted someone who was highly efficient, personable, professional and unobtrusive on the wedding day itself. No scampering in the church and reception please!

After contacting a number of coordinators and reading through their packages, we zeroed in on one name, Van Cuenco of “You're Invited – Weddings & Events Specialists.” We initially met Van as early as January, and we instantly warmed up to her. You know how it feels to touch base again with an old friend whom you haven’t spoken with in years? That’s how it felt with Van!

So on a breezy night in early February, we sat down with Van to finalize our agreement. She immediately got to down to business. She asked us what we’ve accomplished thus far, which suppliers have been booked, and advised us on what to do next. Pretty soon she gave us a checklist and timelines to follow. She also filled us in on practical matters…which items we could prioritize and which could be deemed, well, “nice to have” but not really necessary.

Despite hiring them only for on-the-day coordination, Van has gone way beyond what we expected of her. She helps us source suppliers and joins us in meetings whenever she can. Not only do we enjoy and look forward to each meeting with her, I’m also pretty confident that we’re in very capable hands.
